Sample Submission
Fill in this form for every batch of samples you would like the facility to run.
It is the timsTOF sample submission form, online.
What happens when you send it
-
You receive a
project ID
and an
access code
. They are shown on screen and emailed to you. Keep them: they are the only way back into your project.
- The facility is told about your submission and one of the team takes it on.
-
Until then you can change the form. Once someone has taken it on, it is fixed,
so the specification cannot change while your samples are being prepared.
- When the data is ready you receive a second email, and can download it from My Project.
The sample list
Attach a spreadsheet saying how each tube is labelled and which condition or group it belongs to.
One row per sample is ideal. Excel or CSV are both fine.
My Project
Shows the status of your project, what you submitted, and the files the facility has returned.
| Status |
Meaning |
| Submitted |
Received. Nobody has taken it on yet, so you can still edit the form. |
| Assigned |
A member of the facility team is running your samples. The form is now fixed. |
| Data available |
Your results are ready. Select a file to download it, or download everything as one .zip. |
| Completed |
The facility has closed the project. Your data stays available to download. |
Lost your access code? Contact the facility and they can issue a new one; the old code then stops working.
Projects
Every project submitted to the portal. Click a row to open it.
A
✔
in the first column marks a completed project; completed rows are dimmed and your own are tinted.
Each admin's name is shown in the colour they chose under Settings.
Use the filters to show only unassigned work, or only your own projects.
Everything here is visible to every admin; what you can change depends on who a project is assigned to.
Assigned Projects
One project in full: the submission, the files returned, and a history of what has been done.
The list at the top of the sidebar switches between the projects assigned to you.
| You can… |
When |
| View and download everything |

Only on projects assigned to you. |
| Email the collaborator that data is ready |
Only on projects assigned to you, once there are files to download. |
| Mark the project completed |
Only on projects assigned to you. The collaborator is emailed, and the files are locked until you reopen it. |
| Issue a new access code |
Any admin, when a collaborator has lost theirs. |
| Delete the project |
Dan Lane only. It is moved aside on the server, not erased. |
Uploading
Choose what kind of file it is (BCA, OPA, DIA-NN export, Protocols, Other), pick one or more files and press Upload.
The collaborator sees nothing until you press
Email collaborator: data ready
.
Admins
Everyone who can sign in as a facility admin. Any admin can manage this list; every change is recorded in the audit log.
| To… |
Do this |
| Add an admin |

| Reset a forgotten password |
Select them and press Reset password. A new temporary password is emailed to them. |
| Remove an admin |
Dan Lane only. Their projects go back to unassigned so someone else can take them on. Nothing is deleted. |
| Restore a removed admin |
Dan Lane only. Tick Show removed admins, select them and press Restore admin. They get a new temporary password, and their projects come back unless someone else has taken them on. |
Every admin is emailed when a new submission arrives.
Settings
The gear button, bottom right. Appearance settings apply only to you and only to this visit.
Admins can change their password and pick the colour that marks their name here. The build stamp at the foot of the panel identifies the
exact version you are using, if you ever need to report a problem.
